As co-founder of The Uplift Project, Andrea Praet curates and produces events and experiences that are transformative for the mind, body and spirit. She also collaborates with creative agency Range on seasonal trend direction for clients within the active and outdoor industries, such as Reebok. In her role as advisor to Brand Human under Jasmine Takanikos Consulting Group, she provides brand strategy and business development and is working to expand the Brand Human partnership with SoHo House worldwide.
Andrea is also an active member of the LIM College community. As an alumna, she is co-chair of the alumni advisory board and has been an adjunct professor and advisor to the styling club.
Previously, she was a senior trend director for world-renowned agencies such as Promostyl, Stylesight and WGSN for over a decade . As senior trend director, she worked with an international array of Fortune 500 companies to inspire and inform their creative endeavors, interpreting and presenting seasonal trend and color forecasts.
During this time she presented at industry trade shows around the world including: Premiere Vision, MAGIC, Sao Paulo Fashion Week and Hong Kong Fashion Week. While working for WGSN, she conducted on-camera interviews at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York with designers such as: Richard Chai, Marissa Webb and Tracy Reese. Her role at Stylesight included writing and performing on-camera weekly trend pieces for the site and monthly trend segments for NY Non Stop. She also hosted monthly industry webinars for Stylesight and WGSN on topics such as macro trends, runway recaps, beauty, intimates and childrenswear.
Immediately after graduating, with a bachelors in fashion merchandising from LIM College, she became a product development coordinator for several prestige brands at Coty and learned the retail ropes at Anthropologie, Felissimo, and Hugo Boss.
